Teachers frustrate me.

So today in my English class I took out the spiral I'm using to write the story in, and I figured it was all good 'cause we just finished reading this weird realist story, and it didn't seem like we were doing anything else. I should've known, especially since it was only a little less than halfway through class. Mr. Teacher-person decided to turn the lights off and play a video. Greeeeeeat. So with that video playing (something about wax dolls killing people) and the lights out I couldn't think or see. [unhappy kittyface]

I have, however, come up with a few ideas. I'm not sure if I want to share these ideas, it'll give it away. I got like two more sentences for the first chapter today, but it finished the first part of that chapter. [yay!]

*rant* I have this weird thing about dolls. Particularly BJD (ball-joint dolls)... I love them. I think they're gorgeous. I especially love the ones on enchanteddoll, they are so unique. Someday I will have the money to get me a nice collection. I. Love. Dolls.

Writing with pencils pisses me off. I am a very light writer, and if all I have is a pencil to write with, hell, I'll do it. But I hate it. Especially if it isn't mechanical, because then the lead mark is wide and gross. Because I write so lightly, I have a hard time seeing what I wrote in pencil, not to mention I write very tiny cursive. So pens just give me lovely penmanship along with lovely writing.

Shout-out to my dad for being my blog's second follower. Love you dad!

House for inspiration?

So the boyfriend moved in with me recently (yesterday, in fact) and was gone for awhile earlier to get some things from his old place. In the time that it took him I found a House marathon on Cloo... I was pretty happy. House is one of my all-time favorite shows. Anyway, I took the opportunity of having some time to write a little more of my story.
I am reconsidering making it a full novel, I don't really think it's the right material for today's readers. Instead, I might use it as a practice story, and when I finish I'll start on a real story... So, tiny snippet of part of the first chapter (Yeah, only starting on the first chapter today. So sad. Got the prologue down, though.):

"She lay across her bed, half cuddling the instrument, softly singing whatever words she felt moving across her delicate pink lips. Every word, every note she could feel ringing through every single strand  of her short black hair, ripple across her pale, ivory-toned skin, from head to toe she felt the comfort of her music."

I am actually rather proud of this passage. Usually I don't like going over the stuff I write 'cause I'm just self-conscience like that but this is pretty good. And I swear to goddess if someone copies this -- well... I'll just not go there.

I will probably write more of it later tonight, and run it by Ryan to see what I can do about some of the other passages.

Not today, little friends...

As I am preparing for Samhain and have rehearsals tonight, I will not be writing any of my story. I can say, however, that I have been thinking a lot about it. I am wondering if it would be more interesting in a fantasy setting. I really hate reading novels about some chick and her guy friends in a modern setting, mostly because there are no effing conflicts. With a fantasy/medieval setting the story would go much further.

Yes, I am looking for feedback. Blessed be to all, and have a wonderful Samhain/Halloween weekend.

My fingers are numb!

I have just changed (almost completely) the intro to the story. It took me about two hours to write, no joke.

And yet, I feel as if it is missing something. I keep having to remind myself that it is only a rough draft, I can go back and change it whenever I feel like it. I like very much the transition ending, and the stuff I added in the middle. If you have read my story (if you haven't go read it) then you'll be surprised by how different it has become.

The only reason it took me like two hours to put down on paper is because for one, I'm handwriting it, and because I keep getting little bouts of ADD (I don't actually have ADD) and IMing people on Facebook. That, and I got writer's block at the beginning, because I felt that the intro was weak. I kept looking at it and asking how I could change it. I got nothing until about half an hour after that. I think the change is for the better.

And my dear Ryan, I could NOT have done it without you.

What I have decided to do

I will leave my themeacy story up as a sneak preview of what will happen in my new story: Hope is a Thing of Feathers.
This blog will be used to update how the story is going. I will not be using computer programs to write it, nor will I be posting any of the story on Blogger. Ryan will be helping me with the story, too.

I have decided to do it this way, because if I ever decide to send it in to a publisher, I don't want the story up on the site for people to steal or to read freely. That's just dumb. I will take suggestions at all times.

Loves!
